Disappointingly, we just received the following statement from Mammothfest owner, Steve Dickson:
\"Due to unforseen circumstances we regret to inform BASICK RECORDS of our decision to pull Bury Tomorrow, Monuments and Between the Screams from our line up for 2010.
It was our original intention to provide a diverse range of metal genres present at Mammothfest 2010 which is why we booked these bands in the first place!
However It has become clear through a lack of ticket sales in certain areas we deem it necessary to be more genre specific and focus on the bands/genres selling tickets.
Also due to the recent announcement of our direct competitor, Ozzfest and their line up on the same day there is the heightened need for Mammothfest to make changes to ensure we remain a successful business enabling us to grow to provide the diversity we have always strived for, in the future.
We have great respect for Basick records, the bands and their fans and sincerely apologise for any dissapointment this may cause. We very much wish to maintain and grow our relationship with Basick records and hope to bring you a Basick records stage at Mammothfest in years to come, for now we admit the need to streamline our line up to maximises our product value to the majority of our customers.
We thank you for your understanding.\"

After a long and arduous search to replace previous vocalist Phil Winterbottom, NO CONSEQUENCE are stoked to finally announce they have enlisted former Beggars Lane frontman, CHRIS JONES!
Here's a statement from the band:
"After spending the last few months auditioning vocalists we couldn’t be happier finding someone who fits the dynamic of the band and has a killer voice. We’re all really looking forward to the future and the possibilities with Chris. With new tracks in the pipeline and tours already booked, we've got good times ahead!"
Chris had this to say about joining the ranks:
"It’s a real privilege to be asked to join NO CONSEQUENCE, they’re a great bunch of guys and amazing musicians. I’m really looking forward to the future with the band and progressing myself musically. I can’t wait to get out on the road to play some shows and meet the fans……see you in the pit!"
The band have also just launched a fresh new MySpace along with a short video to welcome Chris into the band. You can check it all out here:
We're as happy as pigs in sh*t to announce that on the 23rd of August 2010 we'll be releasing 'Cursed', the new album from ION DISSONANCE throughout Europe!
As longstanding fans of the band, we're utterly stoked and honoured to be working with one of the true pioneers of extreme and technical music.
Here's a statement from the bands vocalist, Kevin McCaughey, regarding the new album and ION's new bassist:
"Since 'Cursed' is now recorded, mixed and mastered we want to take a moment to clarify a few points. We have been getting asked a lot of questions and we want to make sure that we are all on the same level and answer these questions once and for all.
A few release dates have been getting thrown around and we wanted to put the questions to rest. The official release date for 'Cursed' in the U.S and Canada is scheduled for August 24th 2010. Also, our new friends at Basick Records will be releasing 'Cursed' in Europe. The record will be out there on August 23rd. And finally, Doom Patrol in Japan will be releasing the record there on August 24th as well. Both the European and the Japanese versions will have their own exclusive tracks, more info on that later.
To fill you in on this situation, we were originally planning on an earlier release date but unfortunately we encountered a few obstacles along the way (Mastering). This made an earlier release date impossible. Another perfect example is the art work. We wanted to work with Paul Romano for the art work on 'Cursed'. Paul is obviously very busy and we felt that waiting for his services was a better option than looking elsewhere. We love Paul's work and are insistent on having him follow up his work on 'Minus The Herd'. So now that we have the artwork in hand we can definitely say that the wait was worth it.
All this to say that when Ion Dissonance decided to get together over a year ago to come out with our best work to date, we wanted to take every little detail into consideration to make sure this record was everything we ever wanted an Ion Dissonance record to be.
With that being said, we'll move on to another situation which needs to be addressed. After 3 long years of winging it as a 4 piece, we are now back to 5 members. Yannick Desgroseillers formerly of "Tears From The Sky" has now joined the ranks of Ion Dissonance and will be playing bass; a role Sebastien has been filling in on since Xavier left the band 3 years ago. This switch will allow us to play some new songs on our upcoming shows, which to us is an unbelievable excitement. We can't wait to get out on the road this summer and see some familiar faces. It's been too long"
So there you have it. Pretty awesome news, huh?

FS were one of the pioneers of the new wave UK tech-djent sound, spawning a countless number of soundalike bands along the way.

The band will be sorely missed here at Basick HQ.

It is with much excitement that we announce the signing of the UK's brightest new hopes, VISIONS!
With their unique take on a genre that is often plagued with copycat bands and unoriginal ideas, VISIONS have been rapidly taking the UK tech scene by storm since their inception in Winter 2008.
Kicking off their young career with a debut show in their home town of Peterborough as main support to UK Metal legends Johnny Truant, the band quickly established their statement of intent which in turn led to a raft of key support shows alongside luminaries A Textbook Tragedy, Sylosis, The Arusha Accord, Fellsilent, Viatrophy and Exit Ten.
The bands 3 track EP 'The 33 Sessions' will drop via Basick on April 26th 2010 with their debut album due to follow later this year.
Basick Records and The Origin Agency in association with Ed Stone and Planet Loud are proud and more than a little excited to present the Between the Screams UK Tour!
The band are gearing up to hit the road in their first UK headline tour in support of their debut album ‘Our Last Days On Earth’. The tour kicks off on Tuesday, March 30th in Southend on Sea and finishes up in Brighton on April 11th.
This one is going to be EPIC, so make sure you check out the TOUR section and get down to a date near you!
If you can’t wait for the tour to get some BTS action - check out their new video for ‘Our Last Days on Earth’
Between the Screams have released their first official video for the track "Our Last Days on Earth" taken from their debut album of the same name which was released through Basick Records in October 2009.
So here we are, fast approaching the end of yet another blistering year for Rock & Metal! And what better way to top things off, than by giving you an insight into exactly which records have been floating the Basick boat throughout 2009.
Merry Xmas & A Happy New Year - Barley, James, Lisa & Mikee xx
BASICK RECORDS are sad to announce that due to health issues, long serving and talisman-like vocalist PHIL W. has decided to leave UK Tech-Metallers, NO CONSEQUENCE.
Here’s what Phil himself had to say on the subject: “I want to make sure that people understand I'm leaving the band on the best terms possible - a health problem is holding me back from being the super dedicated vocalist the band needs to keep growing and building on the success of 2009. I love NC, they've been one of the biggest parts of my life for close to 5 years now and every time I look at my NC tattoo I think of the times we've spent together and our achievements! I honestly love the band like family, I think of the guys as nothing less than brothers and I know that as the band continues to move forward without me - I wont lose contact with some of the best people in my life...
Everything we've achieved over the years wouldn't have been possible without a lot of help and support from some very important people, so I want to make sure I thank the following:
Basick Records - for doing more for No Consequence than I could in 4 years! Basick have a real sense of family and support which is extremely rare in music. I want to thank them for letting bands be themselves by not trying to take over, for taking a chance on NC and truly being some of the nicest guys in the industry who are doing it for the love of the music! They're an incredible label and they deserve to be making their way up into the big leagues.
James @ Invictus PR - for working so hard on promoting our album, for getting us press opportunities we'd never have dreamed of and for hooking us up with some incredible shows and memories!
Lisa from UKMU - who not only helped us out years ago when were small but continued that help and support once we grew to the point of releasing the album and afterwards, a true metal fan and a truly lovely person.
The Arusha Accord - for getting us into Basick's sights and affording us the opportunity that really got us out there... also for being amazing musicians, great guys and an inspirational band musically.
Steve Winter Custom Tattoos - the many hours drawing on me and Kaan with needles, looking forward to more ink!
The industry people who have gone out of their way to help us - especially: Dom Lawson, Tim Newbound, Mark Wrigley@OneMetal, Maz Star and the rest of the guys at TotalRock, and everyone else who's interviewed us, photographed us and reviewed us. Metal Hammer, Rocksound, Kerrang, Terrorizer and all the other online people too!
I'm sure there's a million more people who I could thank in the industry but when it comes down to it NC wouldn't be where it is today without the fans - anyone who's shaken my hand after a show, bought a t-shirt/CD, come to a show, moshed, broken bones, travelled from other countries to see us... or told a friend to check us out, you guys are what music is about!
I hope that whoever takes over from me in NC realises what a special family they'll be joining and I am very much looking forward to watching NC continue to grow bigger and better.
With a very heavy heart, thank you and muchos metal love to everyone - Phil x”
NO CONSEQUENCE are devastated to be losing such a great friend and talented front man, but will now be actively searching for a replacement to fill the role of second vocalist with the band.
Any interested parties should contact the band directly at email@example.com or check out the application criteria on the bands MySpace or at www.noconsequence.co.uk
