With Record Store Day just around the corner, we are super excited to announce that we will be releasing four limited edition vinyl albums exclusively for the event on Saturday 20th April. The double disc vinyl albums will be released as collectable 12” records, strictly limited to 500 copies of each title and available through independent record stores. You asked for them, we listened. Here they are, are you excited! (We are...)
The limited edition albums are being given their first vinyl pressing for the event, and are taken from some of our most popular back catalogue releases and include CHIMP SPANNER - At The Dream's Edge, UNEVEN STRUCTURE – Februus, SKYHARBOR - Blinding White Noise, THE ALGORITHM - Polymorphic Code. The front cover of each beautifully designed vinyl album will feature the original release artwork with the back cover art appearing as a quarter panel of the BASICK 'B' logo, which when bought as a four set can be placed together to form the logo, in a unique collectors edition set. Nathan Barley Phillips, CEO of Basick Records and passionate vinyl aficionado says, “It’s great to be involved in this year’s Record Store Day, which is a hugely important date in the industry calendar. As a fan of not only the medium of vinyl, but also of independent record stores, it’s incredibly exciting for our label to be able to help raise awareness of their plight. Everyone over a certain age remembers the wonderful experience of walking into a record shop and delving headfirst into racks of vinyl, to unearth a gem and it’s something that the next generation of record buyers should be able to experience for themselves.”

Record Store Day takes place on Saturday April 20th and will see over 200 independent record stores the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland taking part. The stores will be holding a variety of in store events and making a number of exclusive releases available on the day. Now in its sixth year, Record Store Day is a celebration of the culture, the community and the spirit of the indie record shop. Since its inception, the day has grown in prominence to become one of the real highlights of the year for music and vinyl lovers everywhere. Record Store Day came into being in 2007 when independent record stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture. The UK followed suit in 2008 and 2013 will see the sixth celebration of the UK's record shops. Record Store Day sees exclusive product made available and hundreds of artists across the globe make special appearances in-store. Festivities include performances, meet & greets with artists, DJ's, in store quizzes and many other events.
